China (Liaoning) Central and Eastern European 16 countries national pavilion opened in Shenyang

On January 16, the launching ceremony of the National Pavilion of 16 countries in Central and Eastern Europe was held in Shenyang, China. More than 300 government and business representatives from 17 countries and regions gathered in Shenyang, Liaoning Province to witness the grand opening of the National Pavilion.

The 16 countries of Central and Eastern Europe include Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia.

Developing China's relations with the sixteen countries in Central and Eastern Europe and strengthening cooperation with it are important components of the “Belt and Road” initiative. On the basis of comprehensive and correct evaluation, different enterprises in different regions and different industries in China have targeted peer-to-peer and face-to-face cooperation with the 16 countries of Central and Eastern Europe, with a small amount and a small number of accumulations. The implementation of the initiative provides solid material support for the development of relations between China and the sixteen countries in Central and Eastern Europe.

In the speech of the 6th China-Central and Eastern European Countries Economic and Trade Forum in Riga, Chinese leaders put forward four principles of equal consultation, mutual respect, mutual benefit, cooperation and win-win, openness and tolerance, hand in hand, linkage development and sharing.

Diversity and complexity are prominent features of Central and Eastern Europe, and China and these countries are very different in all aspects. The “16+1” cooperation mechanism is based on this diversity, complexity and difference, and covers a wide range of fields and levels. A good and highly positioned political relationship is the basic premise and reliable guarantee for the implementation of the "16+1" cooperation mechanism.

In 2017, the average value of the “16+1” import and export trade index rose by 16.12% year-on-year. Corresponding statistics show that in 2017, the total import and export trade between China and the 16 countries of Central and Eastern Europe was nearly 68 billion US dollars, an increase of 15.9% over the previous year. The proportion of China's import and export trade volume with Central and Eastern European countries in China-EU trade increased from 7.55% in 2014 to 8.73%. The trade structure of both parties has been continuously optimized.
