The industrial basket filter is designed to remove solid contaminants from liquid pipelines to protect downstream equipment such as pumps, valves, flow meters, and heat exchangers.
It consists of a nozzle, cylindrical housing, internal filter basket, flange cover, gasket, and fastening components. Installed directly in the pipeline, the filter captures larger solid particles inside the removable basket while allowing clean fluid to pass through.
The unit is widely used in oil & gas, petrochemical, power generation, seawater systems, and industrial water treatment applications.
Working Principle
When process fluid flows through the basket filter, solid particles larger than the specified mesh size are retained inside the filter basket.
As contamination accumulates, differential pressure across the filter gradually increases. Periodic inspection and cleaning are required when the pressure drop reaches the allowable limit.
The top cover can be opened for basket removal and manual cleaning, restoring normal operation without replacing the housing.

Two common flow structures are available:
- Horizontal Inlet / Horizontal Outlet
- Top Inlet / Bottom Outlet

Engineering Features:
- With pressure ratings up to 16 MPa and diameters up to DN800, the filter can be applied in high-pressure oil and gas pipelines as well as large industrial cooling systems.
- Due to the relatively large filtration area inside the housing, basket filters typically produce lower pressure drop compared to compact inline strainers when properly sized, (Actual pressure loss depends on mesh size, flow rate, and contamination level).
- Filter baskets manufactured from stainless steel or duplex stainless steel provide improved resistance in seawater and corrosive chemical environments, (Material selection should be determined based on fluid composition and operating temperature).
- The removable basket design allows: Quick cleaning, Reduced maintenance time, Reinstallation without special tools.
